Call for Abstract Submission Regulations


1)    The First Author will automatically be the presenting author at the Conference. If you want to change the presenting author, please contact the WGC2025 Abstracts Team at abstract@wgc2025.com. The alternative presenting author must be one of co-authors of the submitted abstract.

2)    Corresponding author should be selected from the author list of the submitted abstract and will handle all corresponding with the organisers.

3)    There is no limit on how many abstracts can be submitted by a presenting author. However, authors are discouraged from submitting multiple abstracts on closely related topics. It is recommended to consolidate a body of work into a single abstract rather than splitting it into multiple submissions.

4)    Amendments to abstracts are permitted only before review by the WGC2025 reviewers. No amendments can be made to the abstract after the review. In such cases you may choose to withdraw your abstract.

5)    The presenting author must ensure that all authors have given their consent to be listed as co-author on the submitted abstract. Authorship and author order should be agreed upon by all authors.

6)    Content endorsing or promoting commercial products or services will not be accepted.

7)    If identical abstracts are found to be submitted, only the abstract on the latest date of the submission will be considered for evaluation without prior notice.

8)    Submission and presentation of abstracts are subject to the principle of no duplication or plagiarism in publications. Breaching such rules will lead to rejection of submission or presentation at the World Gas Conference without refund of registration fee. Final decisions are made by the IGU Committee and National Organising Committee.

9)By submitting the abstract, the presenting authors confirm that the presented abstract meets the ethical guidelines for research and publication, including the legal requirements of the country in which the study was conducted.

10)The presenting authors must choose one theme and its sub-topic for each abstract.


Format and Content

1)    Language: abstracts should be submitted in English only. Abstracts containing non-English characters shall be rejected without prior notice.

2)    Authors: authors’ names should be provided in capital/lower case formatting, NOT all capital or all lower-case letters. The full name should be in “Given name Family name” order.

3)    Affiliation: affiliation of the first author’s institution should be listed first and be provided in full name. If authors do not have fixed affiliations, provide the affiliation where the work was conducted.

4)    Title: title of the abstract should be less than 25 words. Capitalize the first letter of the title only.

5)    Abstract Structure:

Abstracts that do not comply with the size requirement and structure may be rejected without prior notice.

The abstract body must be less than 500 words.

The abstract must have the following sub-headings: IntroductionBodyConclusion.

Abbreviations must be defined in parentheses on first mention in the text.

6)    Keywords: keywords should be limited to TEN (10). Each keyword is separated by comma (,). Abbreviations should be avoided in the keywords list.

7)    References: references are discouraged and should be limited to THREE and provided in each corresponding field, if any. Any references included in a reference list must be cited within the abstract using superscript Arabic numerals in the order in which they first appear in the text.

8)    Figures/Tables: figures and tables that do not comply with the specified requirements and are deemed inappropriate may be removed without prior notice.

Inclusion of tables, pictures and figures within abstracts are discouraged and should be limited to a maximum of 1 figure or 1 table.

The figures should be limited to a single graph or image – figures containing multiple graphs or images will not be published with the abstract.

If a table or figure is included, it must be cited in the abstract text.

Figures must be clear and all text must be legible.

Format: PDF / DOC format ONLY - Extension should be .pdf / .doc / .docx.

Maximum file size: 20MB

Filename: Alphanumeric characters ONLY


E-Mail Notification

1)     A submitted abstract can be edited at any time until before the abstract is reviewed. Please login to the online abstract submission platform and click “Edit” to make changes to the submitted abstract.

·  Abstracts may be reviewed by the reviewers before abstract submission deadline. Once reviewed, you will not be able to make any more amendments to the submitted abstract.

2)     If you would like to change the presenting author after the abstract submission deadline, please contact the WGC2025 Congress Secretariat by 30 September 2024. A substitute presenting author must be one of co-authors provided when submitting the abstract.

3)      A submitted abstract can be withdrawn at any time until the abstract submission deadline. Please log in to the online abstract submission platform and click “delete” to withdraw your abstract.

1)    Upon receiving your submission, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the presenting author. If it is not received within 24 hours, please contact the WGC2025 Abstracts Team at abstract@wgc2025.com. Kindly retain the confirmation e-mail for future reference until the result notification is received.

2)    ONLY the presenting author will be mailed all the notifications relating to the abstract by the WGC2025 Abstracts Team at abstract@wgc2025.com. The presenting authors are responsible for notifying all co-authors about the status of their submitted abstracts.


Payment of Registration Fee

1)    The presenting author of the accepted abstracts must register for the Conference and complete payment of the Conference registration fee before the deadline specified in the acceptance letter.

2)    Failure to register the presenting author for the Conference before the specified deadline will result in the loss of eligibility to present at WGC2025, with no prior notice.
