Laila Nowell joined ANGEA in February 2024 as Chief of Staff, returning to familiar territory after starting her career working offshore in oil and gas in Australia for Schlumberger and supporting projects in the Asia Pacific for OneSubsea.

A qualified geologist who also has qualifications in international relations, Laila has spent much of the past decade working in specialist roles in the Asia Pacific resources sector, with a strong focus on policy development, government relations, and stakeholder engagement.

Laila has a wide range of experience in legislative affairs, issues management, strategic communications, crisis management, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Prior to joining ANGEA Laila managed the Health, Safety and People portfolio for leading Australian industry and advocacy group, the Chamber and Minerals and Energy of Western Australia.
