Elly Bogi is a geophysicist with over 5 years of experience at the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum. He has BSc in Physics and MSc in applied geophysics, both from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). Elly began his career as a processing geophysicist in the private sector where he developed expertise in analysing subsurface geophysical data. In the private sector, he worked as a seismic processor for Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting (BGP) Kenya Ltd at the only Seismic Data Processing centre in the East African region from 2019-2020. He has also worked as a teaching assistant at JKUAT before joining University of Embu as a part time lecturer in the school of physical and applied sciences. At the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, he engages in promoting the uptake of clean cooking especially the Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the country as well as promote petroleum resource exploration in the Kenya’s sedimentary basins. He is a member of the Committee of University and Student Programmes (CUSP) of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and volunteers for Groundwater Relief.
