Khaled AbuBakr, A well-known veteran and entrepreneur, who worked his entire career in the Energy Industry. For the past 40 years Abubakr was instrumental in helping grow the sustainable role of the public and private sectors in the Egyptian gas and energy landscape in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa.

In the past few decades, Eng. Abubakr co-founded and led several successful energy entities. In 1998, with his family, ENI and several Gulf & regional funds, they co-founded TAQA Arabia, CITY GAS and House Gas, the first private gas distribution companies in Egypt.

Today TAQA Arabia serves more than 1.8 million customers by distributing 7 BCMY of gas and 1,000 MW of contracted renewable and conventional electricity capacities. TAQA Arabia has also expanded its Gas Distribution and CNG business to Tanzania, Mozambique, Mauritania and Saudi Arabia.

Founder and President of Blue Ocean Energy (Dolphinus), trading and transporting 12 BCMY of gas in in the East Mediterranean energy hub.

In Dec 2022, Italian President bestowed Eng. Khaled Abubakr, decoration of “Cavaliere delle’Ordine della Stella d,Italia”, in recognition of his significant contribution in advancing the energy industry.

Board Member of the International Gas Union since 2012 and is appointed as its Regional Coordinator for Africa, as well as member of its “Audit Committee”.
