Philip Tan is Local Partner at White & Case in Singapore, and a member of the Firm's International Arbitration practice in Asia. He has worked in the New York and Washington DC offices of White & Case.
Philip acts as counsel in commercial and investment treaty disputes, with an emphasis on energy-related, LNG price review and construction arbitrations. He has advised on matters across the energy supply chain, representing clients in international arbitrations under various rules, including ICC, SIAC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and ICSID. He also has experience in conducting and coordinating complex internal investigations.
Philip is recognized in Chambers and Legal 500 as "exceptional", a "first-class lawyer in his generation", and "a rising star with capability to understand complex legal and technical issues". He is noted by clients as being "experienced, energetic and always responsive", with a "deep knowledge" of Asian price reviews. Philip also teaches a course on international energy disputes as Adjunct Teaching Mentor at SMU School of Law.
Philip is admitted to practise in New York, Washington DC, England & Wales and Singapore. He holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class) from the London School of Economics.
