Philippe Buchet
Director of Research Programs – Business Development; Senior Global Expert in Sciences
Energy & Environmental Efficiency and Transition to Zero Carbon Footprint
"Doctor in fluid mechanism, Philippe Buchet started his career by the development of virtual model to do Numerical Simulation of transition phases in the plastic crystals "". Then he joined a thermal engineering STEIN HEURTEY, “FIVES STEIN” today, Steel, aluminum & Glass process manufacturer, to develop Plasma burner to improve energy efficiency of steel processes and use of numerical tools for design of thermal processes. Then he was in charge of design and industrial development of different innovative processes in the field of glass, aluminum and steel processes, like the first world reference of direct hot rolling line for continuous casting of thin slab (NUCOR STEEL - US). Then, he was Vice President & CTO of STEIN HEURTEY group (Five LILLE group), in charge of R&D and process design.
In 1994 he joined Marketing & Sales Department of ENGIE, Energy utilities, to develop new B to B Energy & Environmental services for industrial market, in the context of energy sales market opening. In 2000, he came back to R&D and joined the ENGIE LAB CRIGEN the management R&D program for industrial market and a team dedicated to Energy & Environmental efficiency for industrial processes & industrial plants. He is now Director of Research programs and senior Global Expert Group on Energy transition, at ENGIE.
He is also President or head member of scientific & technical board of several R&D centre like, RECORD (R&D on environment & waste treatment – France), AXELERA (R&D institute on “low carbon foot print plants” dedicated to environmental & Chemical/petrochemical processes) and Chairman of Industrial utilization working Group of IGU (International Gas Union)."
