Ciaran is a recognised authority on global commodity markets, with 16 years of experience across LNG, gases, power, steel, crude oil and oil products, battery metals, and shipping. An advocate for sustainable and economically viable new energy solutions, Ciaran provides actionable insights into the future of energy markets.

In Ciaran’s current role as Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder of HySights, a market intelligence provider for low-emission fuels, he spearheads the company’s commercial strategy and development, including partnerships and customer acquisition.

Prior to HySights, Ciaran spent 13 years at S&P Global, where he was instrumental in improving how several major global commodity markets trade. From 2018 he was Global Director for S&P Global’s LNG business. His expertise is broad and deep, spanning market analysis, strategic planning, investment advisory as well as the development of methodologies to evaluate and benchmark nascent markets, and mapping carbon intensity through the LNG supply chain.

Ciaran's career began in business reporting at Euromoney, followed by market specialist roles at S&P. His leadership and contributions to energy and commodities have since established him as a distinguished voice in the sector.

An active participant in government working groups, industry events, and steering committees, Ciaran’s thought leadership has been showcased at conferences such as SGX Ferrous Week, Singapore International Energy Week, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Producer-Consumer Conference.

Ciaran is also regular contributor in the media, with his insights related to commodities and the energy transition featured on CNBC, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, and Reuters.
