Dr. Du is a Professor-level Senior Engineer and currently serves as the Deputy General Manager of the Department of QHSE at China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). He is primarily responsible for environmental protection and low-carbon management. With over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, he has long been engaged in HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) management systems and strategy development, environmental and low-carbon research/management, as well as climate change communication and international cooperation.
Since September 1996, he has spearheaded the research and development of China's first HSE management system standards for the oil and gas sector. He promoted the establishment of safety and environmental management systems covering the entire industry chain, advancing integrated HSE management and internationalization within China's petroleum industry. At CNPC, he established a comprehensive greenhouse gas and carbon management system, providing technical and institutional support for the company's green and low-carbon transition. Over three decades, he has accumulated extensive managerial and practical expertise in HSE system management, ecological/environmental protection, low-carbon development, and ESG governance, making significant contributions to promoting sustainable development in energy enterprises.
