Mrs. Chahinez Baitiche/ Principal Project Engineer/SONATRACH – Algeria Oil & Gas Company/ Liquefaction and Separation - Downstream Activity, LNG & LPG Division
Mrs. Chahinez Baitiche has been a part of SONATRACH, the national oil and gas company of Algeria, since 2007. Initially recruited into the Technical Department of Project Study and Monitoring, she advanced in her career and, in 2017, led a crucial project for the total reduction of gas flaring at the LQS/LSH LNG & LPG complexes.
Currently, she serves as a Senior Process Engineer on the GHG mitigation project and is responsible for overseeing the replacement of LNG complex torch nozzles with smokeless nozzles, a key step in enhancing environmental sustainability within the LNG & LPG division.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Baitiche has been an active member of various project tender commissions and study groups, working to improve production tools and monitor the operations of the company. She has also contributed to the international discourse on operational safety, quality, and environmental sustainability by presenting at numerous national and international conferences, including: LM18 (Tours, France), 10th International Congress on Quality and Operational Safety (Paris), QUALITA 2013, 5th Oil and Gas Suppliers’ Fair (Algiers, 2015), 10th Scientific and Technical Days (JST10) (Oran, 2015).
Mrs. Baitiche is also a member of the International Union of the Gas Industry (UIG), where she serves on the Committee for Sustainability, and the Algerian Gas Industry Association (AIG).
