LI Luguang holds a PhD. in petroleum engineering and a professional title of principal senior engineer. He was also a visiting fellow at Stanford University from 2002-2003.
Dr. Li has more than 40 years of work experience in China’s oil and gas industry. From 1999, he served as Vice President of PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gasfield Company, where he became President after 4 years. Dr. Li was then promoted as Assistant President of CNPC in 2014. He held this position concurrently with that of President of PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company from 2016. From 2018, he served as President of PetroChina Exploration & Production Company and Vice President of PetroChina Company Limited.
Dr Li was elected as Vice President in 2021 and served his second term in 2023.
