Jeongwook Khang joined KOGAS in 1997 after achieving his master degree in Industrial Engineering from Graduate School of Seoul National University.
He began his research at Research Institute of Economics and Management, KOGAS and has continued to focus on natural gas supply and demand analysis, while expanding his research scopes on regional and global LNG markets, Energy Security and Policy.
He achieved his Ph. D. degree in Production and Operations Management in 2012, publishing several papers on service tangibilization with organizational performance at corporate level, especially of energy utility corporations.
He also has extended his career as the chair of Coordination Committee of IGU, from 2018 to 2022. As the chief program organizer of Korean NOC for World Gas Conference 2022, he was responsible for organizing the whole conference program and selecting all speakers of Daegu WGC2022 event.
In 2022 he moved to the International Cooperation Group of KOGAS, with further responsibilities of cooperation. From February 2023, he has been in charge of Policy Research Team of the Institute.
In April 2023, he was appointed as LNG Committee chair of IGU to 2025 and is in charge of three Study Groups and the World LNG Report TF of IGU.
