Shamsairi Mohd Ibrahim (59) was appointed Vice President of LNG Marketing and Trading, Gas and Maritime Business on 1 July 2020. He graduated with an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National College of Technology, Japan and obtained an Executive MBA from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in 2011. Shamsairi also attended the INSEAD Management Development Programme in 2009.

With over 30 years of experience in the company, he has also held various senior management positions. These include various positions in marketing and trading functions based in Malaysia and internationally. He led several Marketing positions in Malaysian International Trading Corporation (Japan) Sdn. Bhd. (MITCO) and Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd (MLNG) to lead the Japanese Market, complemented with his fluency in the Japanese language. Other positions were Head Commercial (Olefins & Derivatives), PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCGB) and Head (Marketing & Sales – Olefins & Derivatives) PETRONAS Chemicals Marketing (Labuan) Ltd (PCML). Prior to his current role, he helmed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PETRONAS Chemicals Marketing (Labuan) Limited (PCML) until June 2020.

Shamsairi was a speaker at numerous international industry events such as Japan LNG Producer and Consumer Conference, Gas Export Countries Forum, International Petroleum Technology Conference, Gastech, and CERAWeek. Apart from that, he was also appointed as the Programme Committee Member for LNG 2023 and LNG 2026.
