Engr. Nathaniel Oyatogun, is the Managing Director & CEO of Aspen Energy Limited and has more than 30 years experience, starting with Shell in various roles including an international assignment to the Netherlands. He has become a technical and commercial senior leader and executive and subject matter expert on Gas in Nigeria. He has led industry advocacy and contributed to developing the National Gas Policy, as well as the Petroleum Industry Act.
He was a key member of the team that developed the Nigerian Gas Master Plan (NGMP). He was part of the flagship Gas Sales Agreement with Azura-Edo power plant and the multi-billion-dollar life-cycle agreement operated for 7 years without incurring any liabilities and is still industry model. He also led the industry pioneering “Wet Gas Sales Agreement” that has become a model for unlocking midstream value along the value chain between Seplat Energy, and Anoh Gas Plant Company Limited (AGPC).
He is a member of professional organizations such as American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Nigerian Gas Associations all of whom he served diligently, garnering several awards and professional recognition for mentorship and service. He is passionate about natural gas become the fuel that transforms Nigerian economy and GDP because of abundance, availability, affordability and environmental sustainability.
He currently serves on the Board of some energy companies in Nigeria and holds an MSc and BSc both in Mechanical Engineering from the Universities of Lagos and University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) respectively.
