Mr. Songwei, Chief Engineer of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding(Group)Co.,Ltd., is a master of ship design and a Senior Engineer of researcher-level. Songwei has long been engaging in the development and research of LNG-related equipment, including LNG carriers, LNG FSRU(Floating Storage and Regasification Units) and LNG bunkering ships. He has played a crucial role in the independent innovation and iteration of China's large LNG carriers ranging from the second to the fifth-generation.

Songwei has led many research and development projects of first-of-its-kind LNG ships built in China, featuring comprehensive understanding of the technology and market of LNG equipment. He has undertaken numerous high-tech research projects from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission. Also, he has led localized R&D of key systems for LNG equipment and has been awarded provincial and ministerial-level first prizes in scientific and technological progress. As a leading expert with outstanding contributions, he is enlisted in Leading Talent Project in Shanghai and as a member of National Millions of Talents Program(hundreds of outstanding young scientists, thousands of academic and technical leaders as well as potential candidates who have accomplished achievements in science and technology), enjoying a special government allowance from the State Council.
