Maria Sferruzza, born in Palermo, is Snam Executive Director International Engineering, Construction & Solutions since October 2021.

She joined the Energy Industry in 1995 after graduating in Industrial Engineering from University of Palermo.

Maria began her career in the Oil & Gas Division of General Electric (GE) as compressors application engineer, and since then she took on increasing responsibilities in sales, commercial and operational areas both in US and Italy.

In 2005 she was appointed Processing Services P&L Leader until the end of 2011 when she became GE O&G Service Global Sales GM.

In 2014 she went back to operations as Turbomachinery Global Service GM to then be appointed GE Officer in 2017.

In 2017, following the merger of General Electric's Oil & Gas Division and Baker Hughes's Oil Field Services company, Maria has taken over the responsibility for the Global Service BU and LNG segment strategy, reporting directly to the CEO of the Turbomachinery and Process Solutions division.

In 2018, she moved to Asia accepting the role of Baker Hughes Senior VP Asia Pacific within the Global Operations structure.

Maria returned to Italy in the summer of 2021 to join the Snam group.

Maria is a non-Executive Director in the board of Italgas and serves as the Chairwoman of Stogit.
