Néstor Carlos Consuegra Gutiérrez is a Chemical Engineer with over 20 years of specialized experience in the operation and maintenance of natural gas transmission and distribution systems under ASME B.31 standards. He holds a specialization in Industrial Process Engineering and MBA with a focus on Sustainable Finance. His expertise includes LNG regasification plant operations, gas quality assurance, and control room management aligned with PHMSA standards. Notably, he played a key role in the commissioning and operational structuring of Colombia's first LNG regasification plant, SPEC LNG.
Néstor has an established track record of leading strategic technical initiatives, such as reducing natural gas distribution losses through operational excellence models, implementing machine learning for operational variable analysis, and developing predictive models to forecast gas leaks. He has also spearheaded strategies for measuring and reducing methane emissions in distribution networks.
Néstor actively contributes to industry knowledge through technical presentations at international conferences like Gastech and American Gas Association Conference. Currently, as Head of Operations at Gases de Occidente, he drives innovation and operational excellence in gas distribution network design, constructions, operation, and maintenance and safety compliance across large-scale gas distribution projects.
