Pipeline Engineering

PETRONAS

I’m a Senior Pipeline Engineer from PETRONAS's Group Technical Solutions, i.e., the in-house engineering consultancy arm for our operating units. I’m working on this digital twin technology together with other pipeline engineers, academicians, and our digital team with the goal of minimizing OPEX for inspection and maintenance. Currently, in my 13th year with PETRONAS, I’ve undertaken various tasks from FEED pipeline rehabilitation, hydrogen blending project, fitness for service assessment, pipeline life extension studies, and quantitative risk assessments for both onshore and offshore pipelines. My work focuses majorly on pipeline integrity which also encompasses hydraulic simulation for network optimization, dropped object studies, anode remaining life assessments, and composite repairs applications. In addition to my core responsibilities, I have a keen interest in the application of AI and generative AI within the realm of pipeline engineering. Within PETRONAS, I’ve had the opportunity to explore predictive analytics application for free span and 3rd party encroachment threats. I am eager to explore and collaborate on innovative solutions where technology can augment our capabilities, ultimately providing us with more time for a quality life. I look forward to connecting with fellow professionals and enthusiasts in this field to share knowledge and advance our collective expertise.
