Dr. Ning Lin is the Chief Economist at the Bureau of Economic Geology’s Center for Energy Economics at The University of Texas at Austin. With over 15 years of experience in the global energy industry, Dr. Lin specializes in natural gas, LNG, and hydrogen markets. Her career includes leadership roles in market analysis and strategic planning at Shell Trading, Koch Industries, and Tenaska. Dr. Lin is an industrial expert who has collaborated with RBAC Inc. on the development of the Global Gas Market Model (G2M2), providing scenario-based insights into global gas and LNG market dynamics. Her research bridges traditional and emerging energy markets with a strong focus on hydrogen infrastructure and integration. Dr. Lin’s current projects include modeling hydrogen transportation and storage systems alongside existing gas infrastructure and developing valuation frameworks for geological hydrogen storage. Her work aims to optimize the role of natural gas and hydrogen in a sustainable energy transition.
