Oman LNG's Head of Sustainability Development, Basim Nasser Al-Battashi, is a distinguished leader in project management and sustainability. Basim has a demonstrated history of facilitating socio-economic transformation in Oman and implementing impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, with more than 15 years of professional experience in the hydrocarbon and energy sector.
He holds a Master's degree in Project Management from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom, as well as numerous professional diplomas in internal communication, crisis communications, and public relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in the United Kingdom. Basim was selected for the National Leadership Program for the Omani Middle Management in the Private Sector at the Royal Academy, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Oman, in recognition of his leadership potential. The program is endorsed by the country's highest leadership. His strategic and operational leadership abilities were further refined by this program.
Basim has overseen more than 150 successful projects in his tenure, including the "Gift to Oman" initiative, which provided $200 million in funding for projects such as Sur Public Park, The National Autism Center, and Sur Maritime Museum. Additionally, he has been instrumental in the development of strategic audits, risk management frameworks, and social investment strategies, which have substantially improved Oman LNG's reputation as a leader in sustainable development.
Basim is a passionate advocate for the empowerment of local communities, the promotion of SME development, and the alignment of sustainability initiatives with Oman's Vision 2040.
