Eng. Shaaban is the founder and Managing Director of Rosetta Energy which is an integrated energy company focusing on accelerating the energy transition in emerging markets. Rosetta promotes the use of LNG as a sustainable fuel by developing and investing in LNG inf rastructure in the Middle East and Af rica.

Shaaban is an energy professional with extensive experience in the upstream and midstream gas and LNG businesses across the globe. Prior to co-founding Rosetta in 2021, he spent 13 years in Shell leading major oil and gas developments from conceptual development phases up to commercial delivery and financial closure and throughout execution and startup.

His expertise spans technical project management, commercial delivery and negotiations, and project financing with Projects in Nigeria, Egypt, Malaysia, The Netherlands, and Qatar and leading global teams in the EMEA and APAC regions.

He holds an MBA with distinction from London Business School and is a High Honors Mechanical Engineer by training with a double specialization in Design and Industrial Engineering.
