Mr Pål Rasmussen is working as Corporate Head of External Relations in Gassco AS, Norway, ensuring coordination the responsibilities of Gassco toward key stakeholder on a national and international level. Prior to this, he served as the Secretary General of the International Gas Union (IGU). He has more than 30 years of experience from the gas industry. Before assuming the position as IGU Secretary General, Rasmussen worked for Gassco A/S in various positions that included long-range planning, company strategy, business plans, improvement programs and new infrastructure development projects. Gassco A/S is responsible for the operation and future development of Norwegian natural gas transportation system, and are as operator securing vital energy supply to Europe.

Rasmussen holds a master degree in economics and management.
